2010 - A Hand Me Down Worth Handing Down

Thank you for your patience.

Many of us are the beneficiaries of hand me downs. Some of them we are grateful to receive, with others this is not the case. There is currently a major battle taking place over the necessity of the greatest hand me down that God has given, the gospel. Some think the Bible is just an ancient book for ancient times.

For 20 years, next generation conference (formerly KYLC) has been teaching Christians that the most important element of Christian leadership is the gospel and equipping delegates with practical skills to understand and teach it.

2009 - Spirit Empowered Life
2008 is the year we decided to bury kylc (katoomba youth leadership conference). The reason is that this is the year when we expanded to introduce our new Children’s Ministry stream. As we thought about it, we decided that the conference really is about the next generation, and so our new name was born.

We take it that you are here because you are part of the next generation. This may be a reality with which you are acutely aware, or it may not. But either way, there is a good chance that you will be involved in the next generation of Christian leadership. You will have a part to play in changing the world and transforming people, by the teaching of the life changing Word of God.

For this reason, it is good that you have come to next generation. We will be taught well by our main session speakers, as we think and are challenged about living a spirit empowered life. It is a concept that is much confused today, and it is our privilege to have such gifted teachers.

We also hope that you will gain many insights about ministry which you can use in your own Youth group or Children’s ministry. Leading young people in ministry is a great privilege and we trust that you, like many others over the years, will be helped in thinking about how to do ministry really well.
