2010 - Life Under the Sun 2010 - Life Under the Sun
These talks will be available to order a few days after the convention has finished.

If you'd like to order DVD's of the weekend, please contact the office at info@kcc.org.au

Feeling a bit down? Not enough Facebook friends? Maybe a little weary? Need something to pick you up? How about a nice warm bath with some triple chocolate fudge ice-cream? Sorry, if you're reading this then you are in the wrong place. Yep, you'll get encouragement as we look at the Bible this weekend, but it won't be obvious straight away. You see, Ecclesiastes is full of ice cold realism. This book of the Bible looks at life warts and all. Life can be hard work, full of routine, confusing, painful, and even difficult to see what God is up to. The good news is that life's not all meaningless though. Yes it is short, just like a summer fog (maybe not a Katoomba summer fog??) - but it's not meaningless.

As you have come to expect at kyck, we are going to spend the bulk of our time getting to know God better through His word to us, the Bible. We will see how meaning in life is all wrapped up in the person of Jesus, and we'll be challenged again to live our lives for Jesus.

We ask you to pray that we might all hear, obey and walk away ready to LIVE LIFE UNDER THE SUN with a new commitment to THE SON - Jesus.

2009 - Revelation Victory Now and Later 2009 - Revelation Victory Now and Later
The focus this year is on challenging and equipping teens from the Bible to boldly live the Christian life.

Our speakers Ross Ciano, Scott Petty and Eugene Hor will tackle the book of Revelation and help us discover the victorious Jesus.

So get ready to be inspired.

Victory Now, Victory Later!

2008 - Something to Live for 2008 - Something to Live for
Neurologist and Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl wrote a book called "Man's Search for Meaning". The basic gist of his book is that everyone wants to find something to live for in life and can, even in the most horrendous of circumstances. The problem with his conclusion is the suggestion we find that meaning in ourselves. Many people in our world today live meaningless lives and life from one cheap trill to the next; drugs; sex and violent entertainment.

At kyck we want to say that no matter your situation in life you DO have something to live for, but its not found somewhere deep in your heart. Meaning and purpose in a senselss world is found in relationship with Jesus Christ.

At kyck we believe that living solely committed to Jesus is really living, so in these talks you will hear lots about Jesus as we open up the Bible and see what the Creator God has to say to us his creatures.

2007 - Follow 2007 - Follow
Discover afresh from Luke's gospel the importance, the benefit and the cost of following the one who came to die for the sins of the world. You'll no longer have to wonder where your life is headed. You'll no longer be confused or unclear about the road to take in life - the road that leads us to God through faith in his Son. This weekend, may all of us be brought to a clearer understanding of Jesus and may we respond to his simple call on our lives - to come and follow him.

2006 - Paradise Lost? 2006 - Paradise Lost?
At KYCK 06 we will be looking at the opening chapters of the Bible of Genesis 1-12. These chapters are fundamental to understanding the whole message of the Bible and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. So if you have questions about 'how did everything begin?' or 'what is God's big plan for the world?', KYCK 06 is the place to be in April 2006.

2005 - The Christ Factor 2005 - The Christ Factor
Are you a digital goldfish? The addictive nature of surfing the Net can leave you with an attention span of nine seconds - the same as a goldfish! The Net encourages us to flit from one web site to another, staying for just a few seconds on each. It’s so easy to have this attention span in the rest of life and get distracted from what is important. This year at KYCKSTART, as we look at the book of Philippians, we will find out why we should give all our attention to Jesus and keep Him as the main person in our life. Come and hear about what God has to say about The Christ Factor and the difference He makes.

2004 - To The Core 2004 - To The Core
It's awesome to thingk that as we open the Bible, that God Himself can speak into our minds and hearts. Ask Him to do that!

What's this about a core? It's sifting through the options to find the one thing that really matters. It's how far you've fone when you've gone as far as you can. It's about the centre of everything. Living a life and facig a death like no-one else, Jesus has gone to the Core of God's universe and rearranged the pieces. The book of Romans is God's message about how it's going to be from now on. It's about the Core of who you are!

2003 - Idle Worship 2003 - Idle Worship
Idle Worship? ... Yes, and it's not a good thing! If 'Worship' is realising who God is and responding the right way, then 'Idle Worshop' is treating God as a bit of a joke. This is not recommended! It turns out that God is huge and what he wants from us is nothing short of everything. Only through Jesus can we respond to God the right way.

2002 - Wrestling With God 2002 - Wrestling With God
Wrestle... All through history God's people have struggled to understand His amazing character. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob found God very impressive, but a man called Jonah was completely unimpressed! As we get into the Old Testament, we hope you'll be blown away by how awesome our God is, and challenged to treat him more and more as God in your life.

Ask... Ultimately, the Old Testament scriptures point forward to Jesus. He shows us clearly the character and plans of God - a God who is unbelievably kind! Find time to pray, and ask God to help you to respond to Jesus in His Word.

2001 - Ready To Go? 2001 - Ready To Go?
"No-one knows when He'll return, for the judgement day..." so the song goes. We sing it... Jesus said it... but what does it really mean?

That's what we're going to be thinking about as we look at the book of 1 Thessalonians. We're going to hear how Jesus has rescued us from the coming judgement, and what it means for us to trust Him as we wait for Him to come again.

So many people in our world are not ready at all, living as though the world will never end. But they don't see what's coming! In these talks we will hear again God's warning about what really matters in life.

Pray that you might be ready to respond to what you hear God say in His Word.

2000 - Listen Up 2000 - Listen Up
The message of Jesus can be puzzling for people today. Sopme think He was simply a great philosopher or teacher - others that He was a political activist. Some think Jesus was a moralist or just an all-round nice guy. Ohters think He was a bit sinister, maybe even psychotic. Many today think of Him in different ways - some think He never really existed at all. But many opinions you hear are simply based on personal opinion or hearsay, rather than historical facts.

We will be looking at one of the earliest documents that tells us who Jesus is and what He came to do - Mark's Gospel. What we see in Mark's gospel is that Jesus expected to be misunderstood. In fact it is only those with 'ears to hear' who can truly understand Jesus and His mission, which meant giving His life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45)

1999 - Be Different 1999 - Be Different
God calls us as Christians to be different from the world around us.

BUT HOW ARE WE TO BE DIFFERENT?

What we will hear in these talks is that it is knowing Jesus that makes us different. Different in our relationships. Different in our attitudes. Different in the things we think are important.

It is great to have Ian Powell, Shaun Potts and Justin Moffatt to teach us from God's Word about who our God is, what He has done for us in Jesus, and what it means for us to live as his holy and different people.

1998 - Love Hurts 1998 - Love Hurts
Our theme is "Love Hurts" where we will be looking at the greatest love of all - God's love. This love was seen in the fact that Jesus Christ went to the cross to die for us. This was a love that hurt.

The book of Ephesians tells us to copy Jesus' example of love in our own lives. As Al Stewart, Luke Tattersall and Dean Rerekura take us through Ephesians, we will see how love works in relationships - with friends, family and "you know who".

Most importantly, we will each be challenged to look at our own relationship with God - to see His plans for our lives and what it means for us to love Him.

1997 - Top Secret: The Parables Of Jesus 1997 - Top Secret: The Parables Of Jesus
Why did Jesus tell parables? Most people think that it was to make his teaching clearer, to illustrate some deep religious truths. But when Jesus' disciples asked him why he taught in parables he replied, 'The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.' (Matt 13:10-11)

The parables of Jesus were Top Secret. His followers were in on the secrets, but to others the secrets were hidden. Why did Jesus make his teaching secretive? Why did Jesus tell parables?

This weekend we will be looking at the parables of Jesus. What we will see is that the parables of Jesus conseal the truths of God's Kingdom. For some people God's Kingdom is a joke. They can't understand what it's about and when they do, they think it's ridiculous! But for those who understand, the parables hold the key to life itself.

Are you prepared to encounter the truth? It's not a conspiracy. The truth is right here in the person of Jesus. He is the truth that will change you.

1996 - Attitude! 1996 - Attitude!
The Lord Jesus had attitude! What's yours like? Having the same attitude as the Lord Jesus is what these talks are about.

In these talks we are going to hear God speak to us as we look at Philippians. Philippians is a letter from Paul's heart. He writes from prison, expecting to die, and urges his fellow Christians to live in a manner that is worthy of the gospel of Christ.

For Paul, Christ is what life is all about. And for us, to live for Christ means taking on His attitue - the attitude of a servant. The implications of this are radical, as we'll see. As we check out our own attitudes to many areas of life, we will need to ask God for help to change where we need to.

1995 - One Shot At Life 1995 - One Shot At Life
Our speakers this year are Al Stewart, Dave Thurston and Morgan Powell.

1994 - God Means Business 1994 - God Means Business
Our speakers this year are Ian Powell, Luke Tattersall and Ed Vaughan.

1993 - It will Change Your Life 1993 - It will Change Your Life
Going away with your group can be a great time of playing games, exploring, learning and meeting new people.

It should also be a time of change in your life.

Our aim is to encourage you to be like Christ and to urge you to shine for him in this dark world. This is why we need teaching from the Bible.

This year Ray Galea will speak about 'starting out' as a Christian. George Statheos will be 'laying the foundations' for those who would build their life around God. John Dickson will be teaching us how to 'hang in there' as a Christian.

As we come to listen to God speak, let us pray for change - His change in our lives.
