Burn Your Plastic Jesus Burn Your Plastic Jesus
kcc has a passion to transform our nation by confronting people, Christians and non-Christians alike, with the lordship of Jesus Christ through the powerful preaching of the Bible.

As an interdenominational ministry, kcc has been encouraging Christians through Bible preaching conventions in Katoomba for over 100 years.

For many people, although the gospel of God was once gratefully received, Jesus has since moved from being the person at the centre of our lives, to being simply something that conveniently fits around us. This is a “plastic Jesus”: a Jesus who is accommodating and soft and not at all demanding – and not at all real. Instead, the Jesus we meet in the New Testament is challenging and tough and confronting, and He calls people – you and me – to take up our cross and follow Him.

kcc is delighted that Mark Driscoll has agreed to join us tonight. Mark is the Teaching Pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, a church that he founded just over 10 years ago with a dozen people.

Today, Mars Hill has 8000 people attend church services each week. Mark is a gifted author, preacher and teacher and we are blessed to have him join us for this special evening. Mark is going to challenge us to get rid of the plastic Jesus, and instead engage with the real and powerful Jesus of the New Testament.

Again, let me thank you for joining us tonight. Our prayer is that you would come to know – or even rediscover – the true and powerful Jesus who died to save us. To Him be the glory!

2007 - Come up for Air 2007 - Come up for Air
The ENGAGE 2007 conference was the first ever KCC event especially for workers and it was a sell out.

It was created to help bridge the gap between church life and work life. And according to the workers who came, ENGAGE delivered! People left ENGAGE refreshed and inspired to love God and serve him in every part of their life - especially their work.

Both speakers - Chris Chia from Adam Road Presbyterian, Singapore and Justin Moffatt from Christchurch, New York - spoke powerfully from God's Word of the highs and lows of living out our faith in Christ in the workplace.
